What is the history of the Olde Ship Inn seahouses?
It dates from 1745, starting life as a farmhouse and becoming a pub in 1812. For most of its life its main custom was from herring fishermen, not just from Seahouses but from ports like Peterhead, Whitby, Grimsby and Yarmouth. In 1910 the Lawson family became licensees and their descendants still run the pub today.
